Put on your oxygen mask first before helping others
Most of us have a long daily to-do list. Not everyone puts self care at the top of this list. Often, we end the day without making time to nurture ourselves.
Chronic back pain can be a message that the body needs care. To relieve pain, pay attention to possible contributing factors. The mind needs to be calmed through meditation, the body needs relaxation and proper alignment and better sleep quality. It is vitally important that we first practice self care to best attend to the needs of family, society, and/ or the world on a daily basis.
I remind myself of these principles from time to time. This is a gentle reminder for us all to practice self care.
